The Plain Team

Too busy traveling, shopping, and/or recovering from self-inflicted gastrointestinal pain last week to notice anything online? Well, you’re in luck. We took note of some things and we even refrained from any turkey or Black Friday links, because you’ve seen far too many of those already. Check out our past weeks: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and send us suggestions if you have ‘em.

Instagram post by Michael O'Neal. Follow him.

NEPA Engineered — A collection of hi-res building plans and schematics of historical buildings in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area (our neck of the woods)—great for collectors and would-be bank robbers alike.

Pallet — Quarterly print publication combining beer with original stories and artwork from writers, illustrators, and photographers from around the world, with Sam Calagione of Dogfish Head Brewery as the Executive Editor.

D. Vader’s Tookapic Profile — Series of self portraits by Darth Vader, amateur photographer.

Mastering Sketch 3@MengTo’s Design + Code book guides you through the process of creating an iOS app, from concept to finished product. This chapter outlines a ton of techniques and tips in Sketch, everyone’s favorite UI tool on the Mac. Be sure to check out the full book also.

This Book is a Camera — Literally. Inside the book is a functional, pop-up diorama that demonstrates how a camera works and will make actual photographs. It is self-published by Kelli Anderson.

Palm Springs Project — Photo series by James Schnepf that features the architecture and people clinging to the midcentury modern aesthetic and lifestyle in California.

Unsplash Book on Kickstarter — What started as an experiment, giving away 10 photos without restrictions turned into a movement with thousands of photographers submitting images and upwards of 50 million downloads to date. Crew, the people behind Unsplash, are now making an open source book featuring photographers and writers with profits being split amongst contributors.

Cerberus — Responsive email template patterns by Ted Goas, a resource that is always welcome.

Business Town — Still good.

This post sponsored by Unmark — the to do app for links.
